I just ordered a combo from New Egg (with Far Cry) for ~$220 (yep I know the MB is crap, but the price is right, and I haven't had a POS MB to bitch about for a couple of years)

Have needed an upgrade ever since I realized the system I built for my wife was faster than mine, plus I tinker with pics & rip DVD's, both CPU intensive.

I also did the longest download since I got DSL last night, got an ISO of 64-bit Windows XP free from M$FT

If you do d/l the 64 bit version of Windoze, don't forget the Snow White & the Seven Dwarves DVD Patch😱

my PC is pretty OK at the moment (solid mobo, 2800 barton running at stock, and 1 gig of RAM).

I'll probably upgrade to 64 bit in the "near" future, but I'm waiting for the full release of 64 bit windows (or Christmas, whichever comes first).
 
I'm not planning on doing any major upgrades for about a year at least. The cost to performance ratio of upgrading at this point just isn't worth it, with the possible exception of some of the video cards coming out. (even those, I'm going to wait for the cost to drop down on)

There were some funny ass replies in that thread, the ones that killed me were the ones that took the poll seriously, and the people that voted even after seeing the choices like "I've always been interested in young boys" & "I'm a NAMBLA member" or I'm a supporter of NAMBLA. That was too easy. I wish the mods would have let it go, but it was in pretty poor taste...

I came up with the idea to edit the poll & chickened out 1/2 way through the editing, but had changed the poll already, so I really edited it🙂

Sigh... simple things amuse me🙂
