I am considering purchasing a DEC Alpha system and was wondering if there was a 64bit version of Windows 2000 available for this platform. I was also wondering if any of you have had a chance to run Windows NT4 on an Alpha and what your experiences with this type of system are. My main usage of this machine will be a web/file server. I plan on doing alot of 3D modeling and video editing on it also.

Everything I have read about Windows 2000 64 bit mentions IA64 and does not mention support for other 64 bit processors. Will I be able to run it on the Alpha?

No.
Win2K for Alpha has been dropped.
Some of the earlier betas are available for Alpha, but there will never be a final Alpha version, nor will there be any future Alpha windows.

That is truly a shame. I guess I will be stuck with either Windows NT4 or Linux/Unix.
Anyone know if BeOS supports the alpha?
