64 bit semprons

I am thinking of replacing old computer with sempron 90 nm (2800+ or 3000+) and Chaintech VNF3 (754). But just yesterday AMD announced 64 bit will be supported on semprons too. How long do you think I should wait? When it is out, will we know that we are getting a 64 bit? I am going be running Linux any way so can try installing 64 bit OS.

An A64-2800 or 3000 is available now, for probably about the same price and probably speed that the Sempron64 will come out at, just get one of those.
