64 bit PCI's on non Dual AMD boards?

I duno, maybe its just me, but I havn't heard anything about including 64bit PCI's on AMD boards. I know several Dual proc server boards have them, but why havn't they been included on any of the desktop platform motherboards? Even looking at the reviews for the new chipsets (ie Nforce 2) I still don't see any mention of plans to include 64 bit PCI slots anywhere in the future. I don't want to pay a shitload more for a dual proc motherboard that only supports pc2100 memory but it'd sure as hell be nice to see some motherboards on the market with at least the OPTION for 64bit PCI slots. Is there a reason this hasn't been happening or is it just that the feature has been completely overlooked due to things such as serial ATA, USB 2.0, firewire, and 5.1 channel sound as motherbaord features? In case you are wondering why I want a 64bit slot its becasue I have a 64 bit SCSI RAID card with 2 10krpm 18gig scsi drives. It works in a 32 bit slot but it really hurts the performance of the system compared to what it could be.

It's likely because only servers generally use 64bit PCI, so it doesn't make a lot of sense to put such features on a single cpu mobo. That said, I haven't heard of a Dual mobo that doesn't work with a single cpu. Of course, as you state, dual mobos are more expensive, but thems the breaks. 🙁

Well, its not only that they are expensive, its that nearly all of them still only use pc2100 memory... So even if i went with the dual proc board and picked up another CPU chances are in most cases there wouldn't be any gain in performane (if not a loss of performance) due to the downgrading from pc2700 or better down to pc2100 memory. I'm sure there will be some (if there arn't allready) pc2700+ DDR dual proc boards but it sure as hell isn't going to be worth the $400 asking price. I guess its possible that nearly everyone else running SCSI HDs in their desktop systems is also running dua procs, but it seems that the server boards are generally behind when compared to the larger market of desktop boards. You'd think however many companies would be pushing the 64 bit PCI slots as a selling point, god knows they have with less usefull technology. All they would have to do is say "You get 4x the bandwidth to all your PCI cards!!! WOW!!!" Well, enough of my ranting, I'll keep my eyes open... Maybe some of the hammer chipsets will have 64 bit PCIs.
