64 bit HD 6570 for HTPC

Just want some opinions....Got a killer deal on an XFX HD6570 64 bit 1GB DDR3 which is going to replace the on-board MSI 890GXM-G65 graphics. I mainly use this for an HTPC no overclocking no hardcore gaming. I know its a major step up but will the 64 bit mem be a bottleneck vs a 128 bit card ???

The 6570 is a 128 bit graphics card. Are you sure you aren't talking about the 6450, which is 64 bit?

Nope I double checked the model #'s ...XFX HD-657X-ZDFR. The XFX site says " ddr3 64 bit memory. Thats why my buddy is selling it. He bought it thinking the same thing then ran GPU-Z to check temp and it showed memory width as 64 not 128. But hey for $35 and some beers I cant beat it.

It will be fine for everything that doesn't require memory bandwidth. That means it'll be great for video and such, but will suck for gaming.

AMD has ROPs tied to the memory controller, so this may also have half the ROPs if it's using half the memory bandwidth. This will hurt gaming to the point where it may as well be a 5450 if it only has 4 ROPs.

Keep in mind that Llano is bandwidth starved at dual channel DDR3 (64 bit x 2). A 5570 with 64 bit memory will be a dog at games. It might be okay if it has 8 ROPs, but still I think the extra shaders will be of dubious value without the memory bandwidth to go along with it.
