My question is pretty much all in the subject.

I have an A64 and I'm itching to use the extra registers that 64 bit operation would allow, but right now I have absolutely no reason to because I don't have any software that's 64 bit aware. DC software would be especially cool because using the extra reg's should also translate into more WU for the TeAm. (Right?)

I have an A64 and run the a64 specific build of seti. It's slow as molasses. I get about 4-5 wu/day out of it, but when using the 32 bit version in windows I'm around 13/day.

Curious, do you overclock the A64?

Yeah, 3000+ @ 2.2something.

Soo.....you're sayin' I have to go to a 64-bit Linux distro to try it out, huh? That's what I was afraid of. Oh well, I'll give it a shot and the worst that will happen is that it will suck on 64 bit and I'll have to rebuild the bootloader to get the grub out. No big deal, I guess.

Thanks. If I end up doing this, I'll post some BM (LOL) results.

Yeah, 3000+ @ 2.2something.

I have a 3200+ @ 2.5 and it's stable unless I'm doing 64 bit Windows. I need to back it down in 64 bit apps. It probably has to do with those extra transistors that are utilized.

I also noticed that when running 64 bit Windows, the system seems snappier when clocked at stock instead of overclocked. Snappier than when in XP 32 overclocked. It could all be in my head though.
