Instead of having to register to your forums for the fix here you go:

Copy the file ATIOGLXX.DLL from Catalyst 4.4 32-bit, to \Windows\SysWow64\ on XP64

There, done.

We're just lazy. If there is a fix we like to know what the fix is with as little hassle as possible.

There will probably be people that go register at your site because of your link though, so it's not a total waste for you. ;)

Thanks for the info BTW.

I like being lazy too but with a 3.3 meg file on my server, if i let guests download anything they could sit all day redownloading it and killing my bandwith. and that costs money. this way i can lay the proverbial smack down on them.

Hmmmm, I've done that in XP before but I don't have 64bit windows to try it, so since this affects only the 32bit OpenGL file above, how about sharing the method of how to replace the dll? If someone wants to register at your forum and download the fixed driver, thats cool. If you have bandwidth issues and can't simply supply the link, then give us the fix to just replace the file....thats what these forums are for.

(Safe Mode?)

Drivers that works with no problems:

3.9
4.1
4.2 (Used on my system at the moment)
4.3

------------------------------------

And those that do not work:

All versions up till and included 3.8 and:
4.4
4.5

To install the drivers, you can just overwrite these 2 files located in:

:\Windows\System32
:\Windows\SysWOW64

The system will allow it, with no problems. (Have only tested that, when
having admin. rights though) (have had problems here xp64 rewrites old files)

You can get the Catalyst driver packages from Ati:

http://www.ati.com/support/products/radeonwin2kpreviousdrivers.html

In case you download it, the file atioglxx.dl_ must be extracted and
expanded, and renamed to atioglxx.dll.

After extraction (I use Winzip) the file must be expanded.

From a command line type:

EXPAND atioglxx.dl_ C:\TMP (or which dir. you use for temporary files)

Now rename the expanded file to atioglxx.dll. and Copy the file to
these 2 directories:

\Windows\System32
\Windows\SysWOW64

You are now ready to play OpenGl games, on your WinXP64 OS.

now you can always take that atioglxx.dl_ file and replace the ati64bit driver one from teh unexpanded instalation file. then just run setup.
