6309, 98SE, VIA or not?

I recently installed the full version of Win98SE over my Win98. Can I ass-u-me that the VIA drivers are no longer active?

System:
MSI 6309
Cel566
Win98SE

i would think that the drivers would still be there, but what's the big deal about re-installing them to make sure ?
