620HX and P180

Should I install the 620HX fan side down or turn the power supply upside down so the fan points up ?

I'm guessing upside down so the fan points up into the case because most cases would have the power supply at the top and have the fan pointing into the case?

Facing up allows the fan to get more air. Technicly there is not right side up on a PSU. It can be mounted in any orientation. Except for the few that are water cooled.

it would get enough of fresh new air I think if you face it down...otherwise it would be taking warm case air...

to my knowledge there is no vent in the bottom of the p180 case...so it would be taking in warm case air regardless. If it didn't have the little cage for the PSU, then putting it with the fan on the bottom would prevent the PSU from getting ANY air at all.

Besides that, MOST PSUs pull air from inside the case.

Very true. And since warm air rises........

oh...sorry...I thought it has a bezel down there, like CM690...In that case absolutely right....

I think the Cooler Master 590/690s might be the only ones with holes on the bottom of the case for PSU intake.
