6200 or 6600?

I'm trying to figure out which my next budget upgrade is going to be as my 9500 Pro seems to need some TLC to work properly these days.

I originally wanted to snag a 6600GT, but the pricepoint is a bit prohibitive for what I want (AGP versions are still >$200).

One thing that caught my eye is the mention that the 6200 can be modded to a 6600GT-class product. I'm not sure how, but I read it here.

Then I began looking around... and the info that points the 6200->6600GT links says that the 6200 won't likely get to GT speeds.

After a bit of creative research, it looks to me that the 6200 and the 6600 (non-GT) are basically the same thing, except the 6600 has all pipes already unlocked. Moreso, the price is nearly identical... Newegg has both models at ~$125 for AGP.

Would there be any point in getting a 6200 over a 6600 (Non-GT) at the same pricepoint? If the 6200 were about $80, maybe I can see. But since there's the inherent risk in the mod not working, what would be the point if you can get virtually the same card that's garaunteed working on all pipes for the same price?

What am I missing here?

That 6600 AGP is 64-bit I believe, if it's the Chaintech. You better double-check it. I saw that same card over the weekend.
