I have a 3 year old computer and want to replace my Geforce 2 GTX. It has a 1.8 GHz P4, 512 mb ram, and an AGP 4x slot for video. I was wondering if it would be worth buying a Geforce 6200, or if it would be a waste of money because of the limits of the rest of my hardware.

Are you a gamer at all? If so, the 6200 is going to suck and you're going to be very unhappy with it. Get a 6600GT at least whilst a 6800GT would be the best bet for you. You can buy refurbished ATI X800XT's for under $250.:)

But with his system, the card might not be worth it. If you are a gamer, upgrade the whole system if possible.

You can build a fast new system with a 6600GT for around $600-700.

A radeon 9700/9800pro would also be a good choice for under $100 and would be much better than a geforce 6200.

if you are used to a 2 GTX this will be a marked improvement some of the agp cards can be soft-modded to 6600's.
