6200 and PSU help

Ok I have a really old system and I want to upgrade my graphics card. Since I'm still using AGP 4x and I only have a 250w PSU with only 13A on the +12 rail I was wondering if the 6200 will even work? Most manufactures recommend a 300w PSU but since this system is about 5-6 years old I don't want to upgrade the PSU. Some people have claimed it will work but I just want to be sure.

This is what I have running

P4 1.8Ghz (1.8A) Northwood
Gigabyte GA-8SIML rev.2 mobo
40GB HD (IDE)
1024mb DDR-266 RAM
250w Sparkle Power PSU
CD-RW Drive

regards,

I don't think you'll have any problems. A 6200 is a very low end agp card that does not consume very much power at all. You should be fine.

I run a 7600GS off the 250W power supply that came with my Dell. You ought to be fine.

^Really? what are the specs of your PSU? I'm glad I can go ahead and buy a 6200 now but if I could step up to a 7600GS I would!
