I recently bought a Mini-ITX case that is on sale, the Habey EMC-800S (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811321013). It's a pretty cramped HTPC case, but a interesting part about it is that it comes with an external power supply. Unfortunately, the PSU is only 60W, so I'm working on putting together the best performing HTPC build that will still work with the limitations that the size and power supply offer.

Here's a post from the Hot Deals forum that led to this post: http://forums.anandtech.com/showthread.php?p=36966084

So here's a proposed build:

Case: Habey EMC-800S
CPU: Intel Core i3-4150 (listed at 54W)
Mobo: MSI H81I or comparable
Ram: 2x2GB G.SKILL Ripjaws DDR-1333
SSD : Crucial C300 128GB

I don't need an optical drive. Should the 60W external power supply be able to run this machine? Or should I be focusing on a 35W or even lower part (like an Atom?) for this case and power supply? Thanks in advance.

I would probably not cut it that close, and go with a 35W i3 CPU, rather than a 54W.

I know that a G3258 OCed to 3.8Ghz @ 1.2v, shows 52W power usage in CoreTemp, when fully-loaded.
