That would be so cool if cable companies would broadcast screensavers like a fishtank in HD for people with huge TVs. It would probably be expensive to do and people probably wouldn't want to leave their TVs on all the time like that since bulbs burn out on projection TVs.

The first 100 hours are the most susceptible to burn in. The guy was right.

QFT.

Image burn-in on plasmas is actually just uneven phosphor wear. As phospors are used, they gradually dim. However, the rate at which they wear is not linear-- but rather logarithmic. They dim the most in their first 100 hours of usage-- which is why you should be extra careful with a plasma in its early life.

The HD demo Channel for Dish network does late at night 😉 And it doesnt matter to me because I have 65" CRT big screen so let it go on for ever if I like without worring about stupid light bulbs and hours used 😀

Well, you don't have to worry about bulbs burning out but I still wouldn't run my RP CRT-TV all of the time as it does also suffer from the same phosphor wear that plasma does. Depending on how your old set is, it could be rated for as few as 10,000 hours half-life...
