I am having some trouble altering the refresh rate on my laptop. I have installed the omega 4.7 catalysts, and tryed using powerstrip to set the refresh rate to 80, but nothing seems to have worked. I have windows xp installed with service pack 2, v.2.149. any advice would be much appreciated.

thanks in advance.

refresh rates for LCD displays are radically different than for CRTs. I would leave it at 60hz. I had problems with my desktop LCD (which was up to 75hz) that weren't solved even when I cranked the refresh to 72 and then 75. The only thing that solved the "flickering" problem I had was to force vsync which limits your fps to match your refresh rate. That helped tremendously.

aye... a lot of laptop lcd's especially will only do 60hz. the screen i'm currently typing on included. however... the refresh rate seems MUCH better than the 75hz on my desktop crt.

Refresh rate is irrelevant for an LCD screen as long as it's higher than ~48Hz. It's all about pixel response time.
