oh ok, i was about to say damn, cuz i pricematched a 60 gig 7200 rpm to staples for about 190-40 so 150 each drive and then i get 2 free maxtor ata/100 which i can sell hopefully for about 30, so total is about 240 for both, which is pretty good...trying to set up a raid

that's still 135 shipped for a 60G HD... plus, if you get a dumb csr, they won't charge you compuplus's shipping. just keep calling till one of them gives you reasonable shipping rate.

I don't remember if it was Staples or Office Depot, but one of them had a deal where if you ordered $150 worth of stuff, you got Free Shipping. So, spend $10 more and use the $30 off $150, and use the free shipping. It's the same price, except you get Free Shipping (I'm probably wrong) and $10 worth of free crap.

My guess is you won't be able to PM this to Staples since these drives at comp-u-plus appear to be OEM drives. Look at the description: Bundle A: with deluxe dual device ATA 66 cable. Why would they give an ATA 66 cable when this is an ATA 100 drive. If this was a retail box, my guess is they would state it. You won't be able to PM an OEM drive with Staples unless the CSR is as thick as two short planks. These kinds of deals (PMing OEM to retail) should only be posted if someone was actually able to do this deal, and from the posts so far, no one had actually done it.

FYI SPLS & ODP both have free shipping over $50. However, if you pricematch online store with Staples, they charge you shipping because theirs is free.

That's the bundle. Just the drive itself is $140 as stated above.

just an FYI...ATA 66 and ATA 100 have the same cable (80 thin wires).

ATA 33 and older are the ones with the fatter wires.
