60fps on CS:S

max/min/avg?

i'm very (very) happy with that as my average personally, as are most people...but there are a few fps whores on here who will tell you they need 60fps minimum 😛

Are you calling me an FPS whore? 🙁

😉

In all seriousness (is that a word?), 60fps is great as an average in my eyes too. I've never really been one of those people who can't stand any drops below 60fps because I've never had that kind of a rig...the closest I ever came was right after I got my 6800GT and still had a 17" CRT at 1024x768 before I replaced the monitor with a 2005FPW. 😉

Now, I find that I like the eye candy more than super-high framerates (if I have to choose) - I'd rather leave everything on and get 35-45fps than turn everything off and have it look like Quake 2 just so I can say I get 60fps. 😉

sounds fine to me...IIRC i get 63fps or something at 1024, everything maxed (reflect all etc), 2xAA/8xAF with my 6600GT...which looks hawt and runs very smoothly indeed...

Ideally that's what everyone would like, but not everyone has >$500 to spend on a new video card every 12 months 😛

QFT 🙁

I can't stand anything under 60fps at all times in FPS games. I turn down the resolution and details until I can achieve that. I guess I'm an FPS whore. 😀
