More than 600,000 Macs infected with Flashback botnet
http://news.cnet.com/8301-1009_3-57409619-83/more-than-600000-macs-infected-with-flashback-botnet/

Dr. Web malware analyst Sorokin Ivan announced on Twitter that the number of Macs infected with Flashback had increased to 600,000, with 274 of those based in Cupertino, Calif.

More than half of the Macs infected are in the United States (57 percent), while another 20 percent are in Canada, Dr. Web said.

I'm waiting for Apple to tell everyone it's a feature.

It is Java vulnerability. Just like in Windows world, lots of malware spreads via Flash or Java exploits; same occurs in Mac world.

Not a particular Mac fan myself, but I thought I should point this out from the article:

More than half a million Macs are infected with the Flashback Trojan, a malware package designed to steal personal information, according to a Russian antivirus company.

Perhaps I should have just highlighted "antivirus company"? You know, the sort of company that wouldn't at all have any interest at all in SELLING ANTI-VIRUS PRODUCTS?

Yup, it's all a big conspiracy. In reality no macs have ever had this virus. They're just trying to trick us. Right? RIGHT?!
