60" Tv and stand recommendations?

I'm looking for some recommendations for a 60" tv and stand. I'll be using the tv mostly for gaming (PS3/4) and watching television with the occasional Blu-ray movie. I'm looking for something around the $1200 mark with more than 2 HDMI inputs. If possible I'd like a "dumb tv". Everything loaded on the smart TV's that I'd use I already able to access it somewhere else. So basically picture quality(especially for gaming) is the most important thing. I'd pay $100 extra for a better picture but not for more apps.

I'd also like some stand recommendations (I don't have the tools or the skills to build one myself). There's a decent number of basic stands I've seen that look sleek until you start loading them with devices such as:

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/corliving-taylor-tv-stand-for-most-flat-panel-tvs-up-to-60/5657123.p?id=1219146763132&skuId=5657123&st=categoryid$abcat0106001&cp=1&lp=2

I rather a stand like:

The only trouble is that I hate doors on the stands. Other than possibly restricting airflow for my gaming systems I don't want to open them every time I load/eject a disc. Not to mention that a ps4 and the controller/headset that needs charging might not fit together and I'll have to leave the door open every time I have to charge. I might end up getting a stand like the above and just not install the doors.

I decided on the stand from amazon but don't know where to start for the 60" TV. Any recommendations for TV's or what I should be looking for in a new tv? Picture quality is most important followed by audio (I'm not sure if I'll be getting a soundbar or not).

can't just mount it on the wall? i went with the option of mounting my tv on the wall then i have a "stand" that sits under it that i have my components sitting in. personally i just like the cleaner look of that.

but as far as stands, i got mine from wayfair, they have A LOT of variety with a lot of reviews.

If gaming is the number one use you want a TV with low input lag. In my mind that pretty much equals "get a Sony," but that might be hard to fit into your budget. Given your budget the other brand I would consider is Vizio.

How much more would I have to pay for a Sony? The KDL60W630B model is selling at best buy right now for $1200 which is right in my budget.

Also thx for the stand recommendations. I don't want to wall mount right now but even if I do I'll still want a stand to house the components.

Bought a Sony 60" R520A back in January - has been fantastic. Zero complaints.

Very thin, small frame, gorgeous metal stand.

When I was shopping for a TV stand, the ability to sort by color, height, and width (online) was extremely useful. Your TV stand height depends on your viewing position. Width and color are obviously up to your wife (if you know what's good for you...). If you find one you like, you can try to find it locally if needed, but I just buy them online.

Wayfair seems to have a decent filter system.

How is wayfair to deal with? I usually buy off of amazon and both have the same stand I want but wayfair doesn't charge sales tax.

I held up buying the Sony listed above and it's now on sale at best buy for $999:

Any reason not to pick it up? It looks like a great deal and fits well within my price range.
