$60 to spend on my new PSU...

They're all crap. Generics. Look at some good Fortrons/Sparkles, Seasonics, Antecs, and Enermaxes. (I see that all of those were "500W" supplies--remember that PSU specs in general, especially wattage, mean nothing by themselves. You can find more information on PSUs at Silent PC Review.)

Antec gets my vote. Really, you'll want to stay away from generic PSUs. Also, realize that a solid 380Watt will provide more stable voltages that a cheap 500W, and this is generally the main concern for power supplies.

Also, post your system so we cna know wat kind of wattage is necesary.

I am aware of the low wattage high quality type, but I only have a $60 budget my current PSU blew out and I only have $60 to shell out. The lowest I've seen with shipping pushes it into the $70 range.

Here is my system:

AMD 64 3200
Asus K8V deluxe
9800Pro 256MB edtion (with a 6800U coming soon...)
2 SATA Hard drives (possibility of a 3rd one soon)
1 IDE drive
1 DVD-rom drive
1 CD burner
1 FLoppy
2x 120 mm lighted fans (came with my Tsunami tower)
1x 80mm fan (also came with my Tsunami tower)

This or this would be well worth the money. Just shell out the extra $10. You'll actually end up spending more in the long run if you keep getting generic PSUs that keep going out (and even more if they take components with them).

Honestly guys...I've had bad experiences with Antec...🙁

I might be willing to go with those enrenmaxes or just wait a month and dish out for what I really want, an OCZ.

Thanks for the replies guys, I really appreciate it.

Well, I have 10 Antec PSU's and every system I have built for others in the last year were antec's also (about 10-15 more) and not one problem with any of them.....

TTs are okay budget PSUs, but they're a step below Fortron (OCZ, Zippy/Emacs, and PCP&C use Fortron parts), Seasonic (PCP&C uses them for some of their other PSUs), Antec (uses Channel Well), and Enermax (uses ???) in terms of quality.

Agreed, I currently have 7 Antec's running.

Built a few others recently with Antec also. Both AMD, and Intel. Not one PSU issue.

Both mine and my friends died just outside of warranty.

I would wait. The power supply is becoming the most important component in your system. Wait until you have a few extra bucks to spend on one and do it right. Just think, an extra 20-40 bucks now could save you hundreds in the future.

That's starting to become a good idea.
