Ah, that changes things a little. Then at 60", the ST30 is your best bet. The only real difference between the ST and GT is aesthetics. I personally like the look of the GT30 better, but that is just personal preference. The best bang for the buck is the ST30.
Arent there different options differences as well? GT30 has THX mode if i remember right? Either way i know most people recommend the ST30 over the GT30 over on avs
if you dont have to buy RIGHT NOW id wait for the ST50 and see where its priced, based on reviews of the 50 inch version the 60 should be just as good and better then last years models by quite a bit
I thought the ST50 only went up to 55", but yeah, I'd DEFINITELY wait to get the 60" ST50.
I know the difference between ST, GT and VT. What's the difference in ST30 and ST50, model years?
The ST50 is the latest model (2012). The 30 series (ST,GT,VT) are the 2011 models.
If you're getting a plasma, there is no reason to buy anything other than a Panasonic unless you have some reason to not like them, or you really really like Samsung for some reason. Since Pioneer dropped out of the market they left Panasonic on top. Panasonic also bought some of Pioneer's patents, so over the last couple years they've been combining Pioneer tech into their plasma cell tech.
I said REAL difference because the spec sheet doesn't always translate into real world performance. The GT has the ability to do 1080p/24 @ 48Hz, however you won't use it because 48Hz refresh rate is HORRIBLE. The GT also has THX mode, but it really isn't that big of a deal. Just get your ST calibrated and you'll be fine.
I was just curious. knew there were other differences and knew you'd know them off the otp of your head
