60 minutes to rip a 7 gb dvd w/a05?

argggh, i just flashed the drive and it says successful and everything but w/ dvd decrypter, it is still ripping it @ 1.6-1.7X. any sugesstions?

right click my computer icon -> properties -> hardware tab -> device manager -> ide ATA/ATAPI controllers -> right click the channel the drive is on -> properties -> advanced settings tab.

hmmm, i just checked. i'm not sure what channel it is on BUT here is what is says:
primary channel: device0
device type: (greyed out, cannot be changed) Auto detection
transfer mode: DMA if available
cureent tranfer mode: Ultra DMA mode 2

Device 1:
device type: auto detection
transfer mode: DMA is available
cureent transfer mode: not applicable

In the secondary channel:

device0:
device type: auto detection (again greyed out, cannot be changed)
transfer mode: dma if available
current transfer mode: ultra DMA mode 2

device 1:
device type: auto detection ( greyed out cannot be changed)
tranfer mode: PIO only
current transfer mode: PIO

should i change this to DMA when available?

changed it to DMA, cureent transfer mode cannot be changed. when i changed it to DMA, found new hardware pioneer A05 appears in the bottom right hand corner, hardware installed and ready to use appears a few seconds later BUT still ripping @ 1.6-1.8X W/ dvd dycrypter

you might have to enable dma for that channel in the bios also do have the drive installed on the raid controller of your motherboard

i had to change A05 and put it on one of ATA controllers to get it to burn at 4x correctly and rip at decent speeds (5-10 mins for a full dvd w/ DVD Decryptor)

I'm not sure, but I think I read somewhere that most movie dvd's are locked at 2X for reading. So maybe it is normal for a 7GB dvd.

In device manager try deleting the ide controllers, then reboot.

Windows will redetect them & hopefully DMA will stick.

Somestimes that fixes it,it's worth a shot.
