I have a Maxtor 60gig hard drive that is not listed in explorer but you can see it under the disk management section of control panel. The drive is not assigned a drive letter but is listed as active and healthy. If you right click on the drive the only options you have is to remove the partition and the help menu.

I have booted the system into the recovery console and did a chkdsk /p and /r on the drive and both parameters ran through their process?s. I also ran FIXMBR and you still cannot see the drive in explorer. Nothing has changed.

When you click on device manager the drive is listed under the drives folder but it is also listed as a SCSI drive. This I don?t understand either. Under My Computer the drive is not there.

I really would like to access this drive to retrieve the data on it, but I am running out of options.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks NJLOAD

Checked the jumpers?
When you right-clicked on the drive, did you right-click on the partition or the drive letter itself in Computer Management?

I would think the jumpers are ok because the drive is seen, both master and cable select jumpers have been used. and I right clicked on both areas in disk management.

Anyone Else?
