$60 Games

The only 60 dollar games I got was Forza 2 and Bioshock. Forza 2 I could have got cheaper used, like Liongames or ebay, but I got the itch to buy, and haven't regretted it.
I got Bioshock the day of release during lunchtime, no regrets there either.
The rest I got used.
A good friend of mine and I decided to pool our Wii and 360 games whenever possible.

$60 is the price point they lost me...I never, buy new games, if at all. I am set on the $50 for a game. So I wait for used ones to fall into gamestop. I did it with Forza a week after launch. and I get the 10% off thing too. I dunno but $60 is just a little too high.....

I came to terms with $60 games back in the days of cartridges.

So yes, the $60 doesn't bug me. The $70 for LE's and crap however does and I won't ever buy one of those versions of a game.

The games now a days just take much more man power to make and typically offer MUCH MUCH more replay value than games did pre-online gaming, so the $60 doesn't bug me at all.

60.00 back in the cart days were usually reserved for RPG's that required more storage.

I'm fine with it. It has narrowed the likelihood of me buying a game to just really good games (well reviewed or ones I liked the demo of). So the higher prices have just made me a smarter shopper and now I waste less money/time on crappy games. I don't mind paying the extra $10 for good games...developers deserve to be rewarded with my money for good work.

Yeah you hit the nail on the head. All this price-point shift did was make me a smarter shopper. The only games I buy new are the ones that I know I'll love & will be high-quality.The last 2 games I bought new on release day were Bioshock, Gears of War & Halo 2. That's 3 games in the past 3 years.

Everything else I buy used & after it has been out for awhile.

The point made is that people are willing to pay higher prices regardless of how it is "justified". Most people assume, guess or know that the price hike is heared towards profit, maybe slightly due to an increase in development expenses. Though... the more they raise prices, the more people will resort to modding their consoles & not paying for shit, but the hardware.

The only game I've paid $60 for so far was Gears, the rest I always wait. I wanted to play Ultimate Alliance when it came out, but didn't want to pay $60 for it. Today the Best Buy by work had it for the 360 for $15, so I grabbed a copy.

Gears was a moment of weakness, doubt it will happen again anytime soon.
