Both the MIR and one of Staples 25 off 75 coupons expire 1/13/01.

Use this coupon for 6 pk. The disks are $72.79; add something to get your total over $75. I chose Post It Index Flags at 2.45, giving a total of $75.24. Proceed to checkout, apply 25 off 75 coupon. Free shipping. $50.24 before tax - $30 MIR = $24, after tax, for 6 100 MB zip disks.

Don't forget the rebate and one of the coupons expire Jan. 13.

Correction - it is only the Maxell MIR that expires tonight (Jan. 13). There are currently three Staples 25 off 75 coupons. One expires 1/15, another on 1/31, and another is indefinite.

I try to use "short" coupons first, and save the others for later.

Thanks for this deal! Zip disks are SO overpriced so any deal you can find on them is a good deal!

Another "filler" item you can use is the $5.99 Xerox Laser Address labels. This will also work in an inkjet and this is a pretty good price for these things. I hate handwriting address labels.

These Zip disks make a great compliment to that complimentary 100 MB USB Zip Drive that Staples threw in when I bought the Maxtor 45 Gig HD in December. Even though I don't see a personal need for a zip drive, except maybe as a backup in the event of a failed network, this is too good of a deal to pass up. I will probably sell the drive and the disks as package.

Can anyone think of cases when a zip is necessary, keeping in mind I have a 100 base LAN and a CD burner with blank CD's at nearly throw away prices. I'm trying to decide here whether to keep the drive and disks or sell them.

Any help?

I have had a burner for about three years now and I still like the zip because it's much faster than loading up the burner software, setting it up, etc. etc. For crap you want to save quickly in general. Other than that I agree with jolottashakn.
