I've said it once and this makes about the 6th time. Do Not sign up for free magazines subscriptions because they send them anyway even fi you cancel along with the bill. I seem to recall in every thread where I warn people someone down the road gets burnt so dont' say I didn't tell ya.

Time was the one that burnt me years ago. I got a freebie, cancelled my subscription, they kept sending so I didn't pay because I cancelled right? Wrong. Then came the collection agency. This one isnt' like Columbia House's where they dont' give a sh1t. Time hounded me forever till I finally wrote them a nasty letter and finally paid the damn money to leave me alone.

My sister went through a few of these magazine offers before and she had no problem cancelling. I think it varies with company.

Well I hope you guys have better luck than I did. But I do recall a few other members getting burnt but I guess your luck varies.

If you feel the need then go for it.

When you are cancelling a mag, you just have to be nasty on the second notice. I think law requires you to notify them twice. Every time I've cancelled one, I just write cancel like they say the first time, and when I get the second notice I write something nasty on it and make sure I inform them that it is the SECOND notice. I've never gotten a third bill.
