6 killed in Pakistan as Muslims burn Christian homes

Searched, didn't see it..

Link

WTF is wrong with Pakistan? Can't wait till our resident taliban member explains this one.

I'm going to buy (get a free one online?) a koran just to wipe my ass with it.

sounds like a pretty straightforward incitement by a scumbag, if the report is to be believed... but it's pretty obvious that the locals are pretty easy to incite... could it be that they aren't too far off the taliban way of thinking in a lot of places over there???

and it didn't get covered much because it's christians who got whacked is the only possible explanation...

I suspect many have been getting whacked the last few months. Pakistan has kinda fallen off the radar though. So not much is being heard from there now.

What do we call people that generalize? Retards, morons, ignorant freaks of society take your pick.

You want me to explain you this sure no problem.......Two retards from both religions started insulting each other and look what happened. As a Muslim do I condone this type of behavior, absolutely not it's against all of my principles as a human being. What I do know is I don't speak on behave of criminals, anyone who commits a crime pays for his crime it's that simple.

What else do you want me to do tell that "I'm sorry", or do you want an ass kiss?

It would be incredibly sad if this led to an exodus of the small Christian community in the nation. Hopefully those responsible are brought to justice swiftly and publicly to head off any impending strife.

I would like to say that, this being the first of your posts that I've seen, I whole-heartedly disagree with your signature.

Boo to the Muslims who decided to take upon violence against another group that wasn't taking preventing them from practicing their religion, and boo to those Christians (if allegations are true) that decided to desecrate any religious scripture

Alchemize - why take it out on the Quran. Tell me, will you do the same (wipe your ass with the Torah) because Christians were just ejected from their home in East Jerusalem and made homeless to make room for Zionist settlers?
Are you going to get copy of the Rgveda and do the same considering the Hindu-on-Christian violence that occurs?

This is the type of double standard that exists against Muslims - when some Muslims act like douche bagging idiots, we immediately blame the religion as the root cause . We never pause to think that the people who committed those crimes most likely never read anything in their books, or never thought about putting it into practice, or decided to take a single verse without understanding how it fits into context of the whole Quran. We seem to assume that people who say they are Muslims must be "to the book" Muslims; yet in our society when someone identifies as a "Christian" we don't make those same assumptions.

Nobody cares about a few Christians getting killed by Muslims...now if some Christians killed a few Muslims...that would be news.

I understand what your saying and agree to a point. But the reason the double standard exists is because there are so many doucebags out there doing what thier doing for the muslim cause( In thier minds) therefore doucebaggery is, by common sense, linked with the Muslim faith.
To delink it will require a significant change in how the Muslim faith is being taught and applied in the 3rd world....IMHO

That's because the latter scenario would incite other Musilims into bombing even more people and rioting.

Having a change in what and how the Quran is taught is perfectly fine by me, so as long as we don't jump from one form of ripping out verses in context, to another form of ripping out verses in context. That is not to say there is only one correct method to read and interpret. I've seen plenty of discussion over verses and their meanings. However, the most convincing to me, were always the discussion that (a) took the Quran into consideration as a whole and (b) employed critical thinking and careful reading comprehension, we'll (ie: Muslims in general) will be fine. And some of these convincing viewpoints are of a more recent era (such as those of Leopold Weiss), and some happened over a 1000 years ago (too many classical commentators to remember specific names).

What often happens currently is (a) rote memorization followed by (b) literal interpretation (which the Quran warns against, as well hadith that reference against that type of reading). Rote Memorization is meant to get them to memorize it so one can easily access and reference it in the future...but at the expense of not trying to understand what is said. The literal interpretation follows simply as a result of spending so much time on rote memorization, and itself results in a narrow reading.

But given this 'modest proposal'....I then pause and ask myself, "How well is reading comprehension, critical thinking, and attention to big picture concepts taught in our school system - where we pride ourselves on being a first world nation"...and then I 🙁 and go get a  to console myself.

Anyways, nice discussion daniel49

This would be alot easier of the Quran didn't exist.... If we gathered up all of the qurans and used them as TP, we could probably save alot of trees.

I supposed when I start reading about it on a regular basis like I do with Islam, yes then I'll gladly add those pages to my ass-wiping repertoire.

I wonder how many Pakistani/Afghan civilians we killed in that timeframe.

Time.com article

Good to hear that the Pakistan government is getting serious about it. Too bad the country is filled with lunatics that they can't keep in check.

ZeGermans: Yes, let's compare the actions of the military to lynch mobs. But if you're curious about the number, why don't you ask your president who is currently doing the killings?

One could do the same with the Bible, etc.

It is how one chooses to interpret the information and/or cherry pick words/phrases to justify an action.;

I don't believe it would be cool to take a dump on a Bible it's no excuse to murder people. There's no comparison and the murders deserve the punishment. Same here.
