6 inches of snow outside...

...and I have a 60 mile commute. I'm debating trying to get into work or to just not go today. I could earn some major points if I show, but it is pretty dangerous, there are accidents all over.

after reading the two first words of the title I was already running into the thread to wanser to you :"YOU WISH"
then i read the whole thing 🙁
don't drive if it's dangerous bro !

It's not worth getting into an accident over, though. I'm in PA and we have about 7-9 right now. Driving 60 miles in this is not advisable, IMO.

60 miles ?! No way in #ELL today. I'm in NY too...

Luckily I work from home - though I get to drive my fiancee to the train station a couple miles down. Woohoo 4WD - I love days like this. 😉

EDIT>> Just got back. I love the ability to accelerate in a straight line (not that you can't do that in a FWD either). I see Trailblazers and RX300s struggling and without 4WD - next time they buy a $30k car designed for that purpose, maybe they should spend a couple more to add the option huh ? 😕

Anyway, the radio was reporting multiple accidents out on the major highways. Even the LIRR delayed their departure times for commuters - how considerate. It's not even that bad outside... I think we only have like 4" 45 minutes east of NYC here.

NJ schools were mostly closed today. Still had to go to work of course, but with half the traffic. Roads where still snow covered considering they don't salt much during the rush hour and the fact it's going to be below 15 degrees all through today.
Sticking to the main roads, it wasn't all that bad. A lot better then that blizzard we had a month ago.

I'm driving down to Atlanta GA from Princeton, NJ today. 🙁

i was going to go tonite but due to the snowstorm changed plans and decided to leave at noon today.

i commute from nj to nyc too. i took the train because nj transit is apparently on or close to schedule and doesn't have to deal with slow driving on the roads.

to the OP, is it possible to drive to or get a ride to a somewhat near train station?

I love my new Sno Brum in weather like this. Took me, no joke, less than 60 seconds to clear the snow from my car. ... it normally woulda taken me about 5 minutes.

Car dealers use those to clear snow off of vehicles. I know...I did that several times last year.

yup.. it was my local dealer who told me to get one.... the 'plastic foam' head is so strong it stands up to compacted wet snow, but it's soft enough that it won't scratch a paint's finish.
