Before our tour starts, we'll have about 6 hours to sight see in London. We'll be right on a tube station so jumping on the tube is easy.

The girlfriend wants to goto Oxford Street to shop (blah)
I think the London Eye would be interesting as Big Ben, Parliament, etc. are all down there

What about Buckingham Palace? Is the area around there interesting?

Thoughts?

Let the girl go do her shopping.

In 6 hours how many local girls can you find?

I'd say the London Eye first, you'll see the most from there. Then maybe buckingham palace, that should take up pretty much 6 hours, including travel, you could go to Whitehall and Downing Street and Big Ben if thats your kind of thing?

Where abouts will you be staying?

Yep, in 6 hours, you can fit in a ride on the eye and a cruise up the Thames to the London Bridge that leaves right there at the eye.

Just did the exact thing about a year ago, was great.

You mean the tower bridge?

In 6 hours, I'd:

1) Take the tube to Parliament/Big Ben, take a quick look.
2) Walk across the bridge to the London Eye, ride it
3) Take the tourist boat down the Thames to the Tower of London
4) Do the Tower of London tour

The end.

Definitely.

And do tube instead of boat if low on time.

Take a boat down the Thames - you'll see a lot of old London that way. Or along the same lines, you could just go to camden and get smash wasted on a canal boat...

Russel Square would be our underground stop.

what does she want to shop on oxford street? it's all the same high end stores you have in the US, at twice the price. for cheap kitschy shopping, she can go to camden lock or portobello road market (loved both of them.)

well but then there is hamley's, which is an awesome toy store...

I'd hit up Trafalgar Sq, time permitting - but a cruise is the best way to go
