6 GB/s ODD port on new MBP?

This page of the MBP review seems to indicate that you could get a 6 GB/s link on the Optical Disk Drive SATA Port.

Anyone know if this is actually possible? Anyone done it?

It's not possible. Only the HDD port is hooked up to a 6Gbps SATA controller. The ODD port is hooked up to the 3Gbps controller.

"Link speed" is the maximum speed for that port.

Latest firmware on the iMac makes the HDD 6Gb/s, but the optical is only 3Gb/s:

Still - you get 2 HDD bays in the new iMacs, so with a SF-2000 SSD you could theoretically hit 1Gb/s in a RAID 0 pair. If only I had money to test...:awe:
