6 Gb RAM but only 2 Gb usable

I have a strange memory problem: I have 6 gb RAM installed (3 x 2), but I realize now that both Task manager and Everest recognizes only 2047 Mb; Windows System Information acuses 6 GB installed and 2 Gb usable; but CPUZ recognizes 6144 Mb; Bios setup informs usable size 6136 Mb, same as at POST; so I dont know what is going wrong.-
My rig: intel i7 990x OC @ 4,3 Ghz, P6X58D-E mother, 3 x 2 Mushkin DDR3 1333 RAM.-
Win 7 64 .
Any opinions welcome
Thanks and Regards
Jorge

Just thinking out loud, but I would probably start with a clean install of win7 64 if possible..
Also what does DXdiag show?
