I saw this in yesterday's ad and didn't see anybody post about it.

Fry's is selling a bundle of 4 AA and 4 AAA Ni-MH rechargeable batteries + a battery charger for $6.99, limit 2 per customer.

The weird (or cool?) thing is that the charger is USB-powered, so you don't actually use A/C current to charge the batteries... :Q

I couldn't find the package online, so I took few pics of what you guys should be looking for:

8 Batteries + USB Charger
Charger in action!

Also, the charger doesn't seem to be too "smart." I left it charging overnight, which it told me to do, and the light stayed red, so it doesn't switch to green or anything. I think this is common with cheap chargers, but it seems to do the job.

Man, you just made my morning. Where else could I go and see a user taken photo of batteries charging.

You are a geek my friend, and I mean that in the kindest way.

I wish we had a Fry's here because I just bought 9 LED flashlights and a couple of digital cameras and am AA and AAA battery poor right now.

It's USB-only unless you want to open up the charger convert the input DC current to AC.

That's what I mean, taking a photo is exactly something I would do and like to see.

Most of friends think I a little wacked, and they are probably right.

Yup.. it's the 700m, purchased probably a year and a half ago, when Dell used to have those $750 off $1499 coupons, combined with the 2% off Dell Financial Services codes. Good eye. ;)

Yeah. That's why you get two packages so you can charge 4 at the same time (kinda).

8 AA + 8 AAA + 2 chargers for $14 is pretty good I think.
