Is it different than the consoles? Because on the consoles you never get kicked out of a game. If you don't have the map pack then the server never loads those maps. There are certain rooms that are dedicated to people who do have the pack if you want to play just those.

FWIW it's fun. People are still playing it a lot.

If you liked MW1, yes. The server system is not the greatest, but it's far from unplayable. And MW2 has very good multiplayer -- much more enjoyable than Black Ops IMO.

I just want to know if you actually get kicked if you don't have the map packs. Since MW2 has no dedicated servers and just uses matchmaking, shouldn't it automatically match you with people who have the same map packs as you (or in this case, no map packs)?

With Black Ops, you could join a server that has the map packs on rotation and you'd get booted if one gets loaded up. But with matchmaking in MW2 would that happen?

For $20 I might actually be interested but for $35 no way.

Frozenbyte deal is worth it. Heck, Trine is worth it by itself at that price. Shadowgrounds is a cool timewaster, but be forewarned that the female voice in Survivor is the worst voice acting in any game ever.

picked up MW2 based on black ops free to play weekend. Figured MW2 would play pretty much the same as black ops; boy was I wrong

I've heard too much about hackers and hacked lobbies to consider getting MW2. Since it's no longer the latest release in the series, Activision will probably not bother doing anything about it. Hell, they've probably already passed the support window for Black Ops.

Just more reason to skip the COD series. It's fucking Madden with guns.

If MW2 were the price of CoD4:MW, I'd pick it up for the single player. That's how much it's worth for me: $15. No more.
