Should we trust WD? What if this is a ploy from them to price gouge buyers? WD has been getting pretty greedy and Toshiba needs cash infusion badly. Both have motive for such a fraudulent scam. Until someone independently confirms that NAND chips were indeed contaminated, discarded and headed for landfills, I will consider this as a planted news story.

If all goes well, the two facilities should return to their nominal production capacity by the end of June.

I hope they will reclaim any rare materials/metals from that discarded flash instead of dumping it somewhere.
