Hiee friends anyone having any idea about this problem...

Yikes. Is that a screen from your BIOS or is it third-party monitoring software?

If that's accurate, you need to change your PSU immediately. However, if that's third-party software you might be ok. My 12V registers at nearly 15V in some hardware monitors but looks fine in BIOS.

Ya its from bios only...when i boot into os and try to do any task it restarts my pc even at 60 temp of cpu...

yeah consider getting a psu. what is the current psu in the pc.

Currently I'm using local 450W psu...can't afford to buy any branded psu...but r u sure after getting new psu this problem will be solved bcoz currently I'm facing financial crysis...;-)

You should use a meter to test the 5v legs. BIOS readings can be off. You can disconnect the psu and bench test it.

I don't have any knowledge in that...normally its psu problem right...and after changing that problem will be solved...

Maybe. Could be the BIOS misreporting also. You would need a voltmeter to check it.

BIOS shouldn't be misreading voltages at that level unless there's a problem. OP's inexplicable restarts on boot also indicate there is a problem.

I guess it's possible that BIOS is wrong, but my money is on the PSU.

Honestly I have seen BIOS wrong so many times that I don't trust it. If I am worried I meter the molex.

In bios its showing that high value but when i boot into os and use any app to see that values its not showing high values...

I have intel Pentium dual core e2140...what could be the highest cpu temperature to make my pc restart automatically...???😕

"Any app" is not a helpful description. Which app(s) are you using and what voltage does it report?

As far as I can tell, that CPU has a max temp rating of around 70C. I don't know much about that processor specifically, but the thermal trip (the point at which the system shuts down entirely or gets into a restart loop) should be even above that. That said, 60C does seem a little hot as an idle temp. What were you doing on the computer when you recorded that temperature? Which temp program did you use?

I use hwmonitor to see temp and voltages it shows me all correct voltages but when i boot into bios it shows me 5v voltage very high...

Ya, you'll need to verify your voltages with a meter.

Restarts might be being caused by automaticity in the BIOS sensing for error conditions such as CPU temp, fan speed and even voltage reading. (Usually there is a setting to disable the automaticity associated with error sensing in the BIOS.)

Go to Fry's Electronics and buy a multimeter (something easily repackageable), take your readings and return the multimeter. (Fry's is good about that.) If it is decided that a new PSU is required, make sure that you buy it from Fry's Electronics as courtesy.

I have tried my friends smps but same its showing same high 5v voltage...i don't know what to do...is bios showing me wrong reading or is their any other problem...plzzz reply sooon...
