Hey guys, i havent been messing with computers in a few years as far as overclocking. I just kept my pc on its 24/7 overclock and just use it daily and thats it.

I had a fan go out on my radiator so i installed a different one and checked my temps using hwmonitor the new version thats out and i noticed my voltages seemed off. The bios is reading my +5v at 5.04v, and the 12v at 12.04v. HW monitor is saying 4.87v and 11.71v

I got my multi meter out and checked on a molex connector that isnt drawing much power and the 12v read 12.00, but the 5v has me puzzled. The 5v is reading 6.23v, i checked on another line and its saying the same thing. How could my 5v be so high lol, that doesnt make any sense.

Aparently this website doesnt have signatures anymore ? Well im too lazy to type out my pc specs so just visit this link to my old signature picture

Your signature shows up fine (a text version, no pics that I see).

That 5V is really high. Test the meter on another 5V source just to be sure the meter is reading correctly.

Oh weird, it wasnt there when i posted.

Anyway, i found the problem was a dead 9v battery in the multimeter. I checked the main wire harness that goes into the mb and the 12v was reading 15.03, and the 5v was reading like 6v, and the 3.3 was high also lol.

Decided to try a new battery and they are reading 12.01v, and 5.03v and so on.

Thanks lol.. stupid me

LOL, thanks for taking one for the team. It'll help us the next time someone has the same problem in an otherwise functioning computer.
