I have planned to buy an lcd tv.

One of the problems that i am facing is that some tv's have 8ms and some are marked as 5ms.

Does it really matter since i'll be using it mainly for gaming.

BTW can you suggest a good lcd tv for 2000 US $

Probably not. All of the manufacturers lie through their teeth about that sort of thing anyways.

Plus, 8ms is "good enough" for most folks, myself included.

Check out AVS forums, but <10 ms is not really able to be noticed by a lot of people. I would go any reputable manufacturer.

What size are you going for? For 46 inches Samsung 6xx series looks great, and the ToC panels look great as well.

opting for a 40" as costs are inflated here in India......

since response time and 100Hz don't matter much so Sony isn't bad either(except for the price)....since it is 8ms whereas samsg series 5 is significantly cheaper and has a 5ms response time......

check the viewing angles and overall color to make sure it is still "Apples to apples" comparison.
