I'm about to buy one of these, and want to make sure I can actually use it. What do i need to convert it for PC, and is it really that simple? All i do is plug it in & it makes it look like a drive? Then just drag & drop?

btw, i have WinXP

i dunno if the initial model works the same way but you just need to install certain software and then you can access it via windows explorer, etc.

after you've hooked it up, get the ipod for windows updater from applie's site, install ephpod software (free).

actually mine never showed up as a drive after i installed music match. after music match is installed, when you plug it in music match opens itself and "activates" the ipod so you can transfer playlists.

actually i never planned on installing musicmatch but for whatever reason i couldn't get ephpod installed =\

plus you can't just transfer files over from hdd to hdd, you have to use a program like MM or ephpod
