What is the difference between all the different types of Kinetic watches? Auto-relay? Windward? the regular ones? Is it that the auto-relay just goes to sleep to conserve energy? 4 years?!?
Ashford also has a bunch of watches on clearance. Click on the 60% off on the main page. You can apparently also use coupons on these clearance watches. I got a $1500 (like anyone actually charges full retail) watch for less than $400. Not too shabby a Christmas present.
The Auto Relay Kinetics can go to sleep for up to 4 years but still maintain the time and date (pick it up, and the hands move to the correct positions). I believe the regular Kinetics need to be shaked every few weeks or they'll run down.
yeah, the older style kinetics can't keep track of time that long. oh well, not like i ever have mine off for more than two days. even then it doesn't drain enough to move the dial off of full.
I got in on this one. Picked up a Seiko Kinetic Auto Relay #sma003 and it is heavy but it sure looks and feels like a good looking, well built watch. Awesome Christmas present for me!
I just bought a omega seamaster omegamatic. I used the 20% off passport coupon and went thru ebates for another 5%. $800 total which is great for a Omega. Your better off paying the regular ashford price because if you get the special offer you can't go thru ebates. If anyone is interested they have the James Bond Seamaster pro for $900 after coupons. Thats the lowest price I ever saw. If your idea of a good watch is a timex with indiglo Disregard this post
