You can probably pull it off, but you do so at your own risk it would seem.

In my own experience, the spec in the Intel page may not be the hard limit. According to Intel, my W3690 should max at 24G, and now I am running 32G, and so far the tested hard limit is 56G (3x16 +8).

I personal consider the info in Intel page is the "max demonstrated" limit, but not the real hard limit. Of course, there is no guarantee that you can run 128G, however, if someone already did it, most likely you can do the same thing.
