I have a MSI 5900XT-VTD128 and I pushed it to benchmark a nice 5000 in 3DMARK03.. I normally don't overclock but I did temporarily just to see what my little card can, its back at stock speeds now, which it still gets about 4500 in 3DMARK03.
Whats everyone one's elses benches???
My Rig is below, I shoulded be getting that high with such a poor rig but oh well.

it aint that high, i am getting a A64 3200+ soon hopefully, with Geil 3200 512 RAM, i should get about 5700 at stock speeds then. And yes I will be getting another stick of RAM when i can afford it.

3DMark03 is GPU bound, your CPU\motherboard upgrade won't do all that much for 3DM03, but you'll see a healthy boost in real games.

Though I don't run a XT, my 5900U scores over 7000 when overclocked to the max. I don't really consider it valid as I get artifacts at those speeds, so I run it clocked lower.

With 3dmark03 I get 5221 with my msi fx5900xt at 390/700, I don't have any results for when I overclocked it! :(

Getting 4500 with xp1800 is good considering I only get 4785 with my xp2500 at stock speeds.

Why does everyone over clock these days? To be honest I would love to over clock and get more performance but does anyone actually know what over clocking video cards can do to them over time? I have no money normally and cant afford high end cards all the time. So to me a card over $100 Australian is high end. But eventually I saved (won a bit of cash on the pokies) so i went and brought the best card for about $350 Australian dolllars. I live in tasmania and i only trust a couple retail stores so I dont get things as cheap as others, and I dont get things from the mainland. Anyway I am very happy with my 4568 3DMARK03 score. The only problem I have now is I have about $1050 to spend on a system upgrade, so what cpu, motherboard and Ram do I get? I also need another PSU which I already have my eye on one its about $130 so that leaves me say $920 to spend on a CPU, MB and RAM.
So anyone have any suggestions on what setup wil work with my 5900XT? And I dont want a Athlon MP.

Never heard of that RAM.
I was going to get a A64 3200+
K8T Neo-FISR
512 Geil DDR3200
Going to get another 512 when i can afford it.

that will be a little more but i'll borrow off my girl friend, but I heard that the Geil Ram has issues with the CPU or Motherboard?

Leadtek 5900XT.
Athlon 1800+
512MB PC3200
AN35N-Ultra
'01: right about 12,000.
'03: 4852-4883 3Dmarks stock. I'm still trying to get it cooled with the case closed, so no OCing yet (save getting the RAM to rated speed), though I'm confident I'll be able to hit 55xx. I have no flashing plans, else I'd be confident in 6xxx due to the extra GPU voltage. The score only changes by about 30 points from 700MHz RAM to 900MHz RAM (yes, I got 2.2ns modules).

I think that extra little bit of speed in your Ram is what pushes u past my score..
Cerb whats your 3dmark01 results?
