5900ultra problems

I have a reference board 5900 ultra 256meg vid card. I also have athis albatron mobo and am getting a problem.

I just took out my 9800 pro to replace it with a 5900 ultra(i dont care which is better, this isnt what the post is about) Well it wont post at all. I moved everything to default settings not knwoing if that would help in the bios since I o/c. As soon as I touch the powe button the fan on the vid card twitches then nothing else, no post, etc. Ive tried it in two old dells and it works fine.

is there any thing I can do to get this card to work?

The card is perfectly fine as tested in two systems but not with my gaming rig.

please lmk, thx

Just a crazy guess, but do you have your bios set PCI graphics or the AGP controller?

And why get a reference board?

just trying something new...

umm I dont know why anything would be set wrong, if I pop my 9800 pro in there it works absolutely fine, fan and all but when the 5900u is in it doesnt do anything...

Then obviously it would be the 5900u. Does it work on any other motherboard?

are you sure the 5900 is not PCI? (joke)

strange problem though, is the 5900 powered by a seperate plug like the 9800? is it a different plug?

Could it be a power issue, it shouldnt be since I assume the 9800 uses more power.

Maybe check the contact points and make sure the 5900 is not grounding anything. (simple but common problem)

good luck
