VIVO = Video in, video out.

Basically all video cards anymore have video out, which simply allows you to hook it up to your tv. Video in however, let's you input video onto the computer. For instance you could hook up your ps2 to play games using the monitor, or hook up a camera if you wanted to edit video on the computer. Depends whether you'd want to do anything along those lines.

Overall, very nice board. Unfortunately, it doesn't include PNY's newer style of heatsink (the gold one), but the cooling still seems adequate. Fan is a bit on the small side though, and somewhat noisy.
I am also getting the small noise when scrolling... no biggie, but kind of a bummer.

Overclocking results have been pretty good. It will auto-detect to 455/960, which is decent. Obviously auto detect is pretty conservative though, so I expect to get at least another 10mhz out of both the core and memory. I'll keep you posted once I've had time to play with it.

What program did you use to OC?. I just got done ordering mine tonight along with the ASUS A7N8X @ newegg. Im not to worried about the noice os the fan.
Also is the small noise annoying like is it something you will always notice? Or just when your paying attention?

You can run a fx5900 on that although you probably won't get the maximum performance out of it...

I was just using the utility in the Nvidia drivers (coolbits+). Nice choice of motherboard... been eyeing the new A7N8X-E myself :)
Fan on the FX5900 is quiet for the most part since it is temperature controlled. But when you first start up the computer, it roars for a second. I'm assuming it has the potential to be very load when the core heats up, but I have yet to experience that.
I have a pretty loud system, so the noise isn't that bad... but yeah, you notice it. I'm gonna give PNY a call (even though we're not under warranty). I would rather not live with the noise.
I kinda doubt that all the cards do this, so hopefully yours doesn't.

Does anyone know what software bundles come with each card? Such as the PNY or eVGA or Gainward etc?

With a 5900nu that has 2.2ns mem, 5900Ultra speeds are a cinch to reach and somewhat beyond. With the 2.8ns mem that is running at 700MHz, Ultra speeds would be kinda pushing it I think. You would have to see other members results that have 2.8ns mem and see how well they did.

Get eVGA's 5900SE. I'm gonna get it. $189 onNewegg+free s/h. Check out the reviews on firingsquad.com
5900SE

It is almost equal to the 5900nu, but is $30 less.

Holy mackerel. Futurepowerpc.com raised the price of the PNY 5900 to 239 from 195 in less than a week!!! Too bad. Now i guess i have to go with newegg's eVGA.

hope this clears it all up.

the one selling for 289 is a 256mb version, which is at a just price to clear that out

Manufacturers often change software bundles faster than Newegg can change the pictures. Many of Neweggs pictures are old and do not reflect the currently shipping item.

On eVGAs website, they now say that the 5900 comes with Call of Duty. The software you get depends on when it was packaged. If you get one a few weeks old, then you'll get Ghost Recon. If you get the new package, you'll get Call of Duty...YMMV

FYI for anyone who didn't get Call of Duty with their Evga 5900SE, call EVGA. I got the 5900SE bundle with Ghost Recon so I called Evga. They had me fax them a copy of my newegg invoice and they said they'd send a Call of Duty CD out to me within 5 days. So everyone that didn't get it, can get it. :)
