5900 Ultra is giving me artifacts in a game

I've got an eVGA 5900 Ultra and here is the rest of my system:
Shuttle AN35 mobo
AMD XP 2500+
1GB PC 2700
Flowers 350w PSU
WD 250gb HDD
Maxtor 160gb HDD
16X DVD
52X CDRW
4X DVDRW
Win XP Pro

Here is the problem...when I play Final Fantasy XI I'm getting artifacts on the screen when I use the invisible spell or when there are avatars on the screen. I've also noticed things like walls don't seem connected (I think its called clipping). Ordinarily I would think its just lousy programming, but my kid has the same game on his computer and he has none of these things and his system is not nearly as strong as mine!! So, what do you gurus think it is??
By the way, I'm using most recent drivers for the card and have even gone back to older drivers as well...

I am not positive of the problem. But i also have an eVGA card, and am having trouble with it. Maybe eVGA is the suckz0rz. Buutt, go and delete all the drivers, reboot, windows will reset to its native, tis like 640x480, then reinstall the most recent again. And that may help.

If it doesnt check to see if your card or anything is overheating. Also check to see if your rails have enough power.

Might be heat related. Check to see if videocard heatsink fan (not the one on your cpu) is running.

I had the same problems with my V.C i had to RAm it might be overheating if you re-install drivers and the same still happen it's a good chance taht its the hatdware the downside is it takes 3-4wks to get your VC rma..
