Ok here's the deal. I'm moving to PCI-e and AMD world. I had just bought a 6600GT card. So a friend who's been having troubles playing FEAR borrowed my 6600GT to try out to see if it helps. We also brought him up to the latest non-beta drivers. He didn't see that much of a difference between it and a 5900 Ultra he had, so he gave it back. Now when he puts in the new card, it blue screens with the 81.85 drivers. If he removes those (and uses those in Win XP I suppose - I need to ask that question), it runs for a while but is artifacting BAD under FEAR - runs fine for Windows and such.

Not sure where to go from here... any advise?

The driver is probably retaining some settings from when the 6600GT was in there.

Uninstall the drivers properly then run drivercleaner. Reinstall the drivers.
