5900 equivalent of the "scrolling line" issue?

I thought all 5900's were made by nVidia, thus all would be affected, and 5600's won't have a problem because they are different cards.

I thought Nvidia supply the chipsets and reference design and the companies are allowed to either use that design or their own?

I think only the 5900 Ultra's are sold by nVidia as a complete card. I could be wrong, though.

Interesting stuff.*

*Not meant in any way to be used in "See you nVidiot jerks! Pledge your lives to our God from the Great White North!" type arguments. Informational only.
Hey, what's wrong with the Great White North? :D

Apparently, only certain people will notice it. That's a good sign, right? I wonder if we'll see this hit the 30% that the 9700P supposedly hit, or whether that many people won't notice it. I take it you haven't noticed anything amiss with your 5800 Rollo, which would indicate its something specific to the 5900 (even though posters on that forum stated their 5600s had a similar problem). Could this be an NV35 as a whole issue, instead of just being a 5900 issue?

Nothing is wrong with the GWN, only rabid defense of companys whose sole interest in you extends to your wallet. It was a joke in any case, I thought some of the fanATIcism I have seen of late borders on worship.

I've seen nothing like that in my soon to be sold 5800.

Pete, I believe all 5800 and 5900 boards are shipped whole to the companies, the only differences are in HSF and drivers.

Doesn't make much sense to me, does nVidia ship companies the boards in their PCB color of choice and layout of parts? All the 5900 (non Ultras) have their own colors and styles of hs/fans, but taking a loot at the Ultras they all nearly look the same (same color, green, and fan design, with the exception of sticker decals of the companies) Although ASUS's was blue but the layout was the same but HS/fan was unique among the 5900 Ultras...

May be true for the 5900 Ultras, but I think someone got it right when they said the companies can follow a reference design or use their own, at least concerning the 5900. If companies don't get 5900 Ultra boards whole from nVidia, then they all (except ASUS) follow the reference design pretty damn close.

The 3D flicker is bad on mine! It's my second PNY 5900U. The first one I exchanged thinking it was bad but, everyday that goes by more & more people notice it.
When FS2004 is release in a week or so, oh yea with that light background it will flicker like crap. We might actually see some headlines on this screw up.
I have till Monday to return this with a heavy restocking fee, but that 9800Pro is looking better & better. I just don't know if a driver will fix this issue, and I for one am going to set this RMA BS out.

Fingers crossed for an easy fix, but if nothing by Monday its ATI time :) Believe me, I'm going to argue to keep the 15% restock crap at CompUSA!

Isn't that sick !!!

I might have a good argument since they don't charge if you exchange for the same thing, but if the exchange is going to be as defective as the first one...well you see the point...

It seems there are a fair few problems with the 5900. I have the creative one and was getting loads of ghosting. The help desk told me that you can't use anything like a KVM or extension lead or even a long VGA lead.

They were right I took the extension lead out of the loop and now all is fine.
