5870 Xfire Performance Increase

I currently have an XFX 5870 1gb (HD-587X-ZNFV) and found a second one (same model) for sale used on Amazon.com <$200 and am thinking about doing crossfire but am wondering how much performance increase I would really see. I mostly play FPS and some strategy like Starcraft/Civ.

We need to know your CPU and your gaming resolution. And your PSU would be good to know too, if you want to make sure you can add a second HD5870 at all.

That would most definitely be a great performance upgrade. Check out Xbitlabs for some numbers:

You will be able to crank the details all the way up with a second HD5870. Your PSU will also handle two cards fine.

They work great, but with the 10.12's I started getting black screens on BC2. For less than $200.00, you can't beat a second 5870.
