5870 trifire review: 1gb vs 2gb cards

Essentialy this is saying that the 5970 and anything near or faster should have more than 1GB of ram.

Thanks for this, wish there were more reviews showing these settings and VRAM comparisons.

This is why AMD needs to wise up and release a 2GB 6970 from the get-go. Considering it will be the new single-gpu performance leader, they are going to turn off 30" and eyefinity gamers if it only has 1GB onboard.

Although the 6970 might be somewhat of a niche part, 2560x1600 is a serious niche resolution. I honestly do not know a single person who runs such monitor resolution.

How they look at it, if you're going to spend that much on said resolution, you're going to be buying and waiting for the best parts for your setup, regardless of price.

? I'd say anything faster then a 5870 or a overclocked 5870.
I seen benchies where a overclocked gtx460 with 2gb of ram makes a difference, depending on the game, resolution, and levels of AA.

In fact thats a nice jump with a single 5870 in that chart.20%+
