5870 or 6950 2gb

[Modular]

Going in the following rig:

AMD Phenom II X4 920 2.8ghz (stock)
Antec Earthwatts 500 watter
1680x1050 monitor
Biostar TA790GX 128mb Motherboard
Currently running with a 4850

I'm willing to do the following:

- Overclock the Phenom (I know it can do much more on this motherboard)
- Buy a new PSU if needed
- I will be upgrading monitors in the next 6 months to a 24+ inch and 1920x1080

Currently, the 5870 can be had for $170 and the cheapest I've found the 6950 2gb for is $244. I know that the 6950's are currently unlockable adn I'd mess with that if it would make a difference.

The $74 savings is substantial and could go towards a better processor or power supply if needed. I'm not sure what would be best at this point, and I've not had the time to keep up with this stuff as much as I'd like. So I defer to you experts!

5870. at 1680x1050 and with your cpu, especially at stock, spending anymore would not even be noticeable in many cases. you could then take the savings an get you a cpu cooler and do a mild oc.

EDIT: actually I would get a 6850 for 150 bucks since it uses quite a bit less power and is plenty strong for 1680x1050.
