No need for 2D/Games now. Need cheapest card that can support 2560x1440 on Dell 27".

What can I get to get by?

Eventually, I am planning on getting XFX7950 (in a month or so)

Why not rush the decision to now instead of later? Otherwise even a 4670 might cut it as I think the Rez should be supported?

Everything in the Radeon 5000 6000, and 7000 series should have at least one Dual-Link DVI and many cards have Displayport, since that should be a Dell U2711 monitor. Even a 5450 or 6450 will support that resolution. If you aren't going to play games on it then they would do the job.

I have an ASUS AMD 5450 on my work PC that I am using to write to this post right now... and I can confirm it has DVI-I Dual Link for 2560x1440 support... I got it from newegg for $19.99 for a refurbished version a month ago...
